Climate change is no longer a distant issue, it’s a reality we face today.

As part of the ‘Climate Action Opportunity Income Project,’ Gyeonggi Province has launched ‘The Second Story of Fire Suits’ campaign, introducing upcycled clothing and bags made from retired fire suits once worn by firefighters in real disaster situations.

This meaningful campaign embodies both the dedication of firefighters and the value of climate action.

The fire suits that once protected lives are reborn as clothing and bags, allowing people to wear them as symbols of commitment to climate response.

Until November 19, 2025, people can participate by:

1. Downloading the “Climate Action Opportunity Income” app

2. Completing one of the 16 designated climate actions by Gyeonggi Province

3. Uploading a photo as proof of participation

Participants will be entered into a draw to win upcycled clothing or bags made from retired fire suits.

This event is more than just a giveaway—it’s a meaningful movement where people actively join in delivering the message: ‘Save Life, Save Earth.’ 🌍

The ‘Climate Action Opportunity Income’ project is one of Gyeonggi Province’s key climate policies under the 8th civil administration, rewarding the social value of greenhouse gas reduction efforts.

By installing the app and practicing the province’s designated actions, participants can earn up to KRW 60,000 per year in local currency rewards.

In 2025, 3 new activities: Climate quizzes, collection of discarded home appliances, and high-quality recyclables have been added to the 13 existing ones, including walking, cycling, using tumblers, and taking public transportation, making a total of 16 climate actions available for participation.

'The Second Story of Fire Suits' is not just a campaign. It’s the starting point of climate action created together by Gyeonggi Province’s residents.
