As the chilly breeze sets in, it’s easy to feel too cold to go outside yet stifling to stay at home. If you’re looking to unwind and recharge, how about a soothing hot spring getaway? ♨️
Today’s destination is Yulam Hot Springs, located in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province. It’s one of the closest hot springs to the Seoul metropolitan area, famous for its natural spring water rising from 700 meters underground.
Known as ‘Soft Water No. 1,’ Yulam Hot Springs is the first officially licensed hot spring in Hwaseong City, offering high-quality spring water at an affordable price!
The waters of Yulam Hot Springs are highly alkaline, giving them a soft and silky texture. They’re also known to benefit skin health and help relieve joint discomfort.
You can enjoy a variety of baths, including large hot and cold pools, a jade-pressure bath, and an outdoor bath with a waterfall.
The spacious outdoor bath is especially popular—you can soak in warm spring water while enjoying the crisp air and serene outdoor scenery.
For an additional fee, you can also access the red clay sauna (í™©í† ê°€ë§ˆ).
The oak-fired clay sauna provides far-infrared heat, which helps improve circulation and promotes detoxification through sweating.
Both the hot springs and sauna are said to be great for relieving chronic fatigue and reducing stress.
Beyond bathing and the sauna experience, you can also enjoy a variety of snacks and meals, offering a deeper look into Korean hot spring culture.
You’ll find comforting dishes like miyeokguk (seaweed soup), believed to help cleanse the body and improve circulation, and classic Korean stews like kimchi jjigae and doenjang jjigae.
If you want to melt away fatigue and warm both body and mind, plan a relaxing hot spring trip to Gyeonggi Province this weekend!
