Located on the slopes of Munsusan Mountain in Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, Yongin Beomnyunsa Temple offers a calm, reverent atmosphere where visitors can truly feel at ease. 🙏🏻
Although the temple shows the traces of 20 years, it is beautifully maintained, making it a beloved healing spot for many. ✨
The temple’s main hall, Daeungjeon (about 430㎡), is built in the Southern Buddhist architectural style with an open structure. Constructed from red pine from Mount Baekdusan, the hall enshrines a massive 53-tonne stone Buddha statue — three times larger than the one in Seokguram Grotto in Gyeongju City.
Inside the hall, 1,250 smaller Buddha statues are also enshrined, reflecting the deep devotion and faith of Buddhist practitioners.
The temple grounds are peaceful and free from city noise, offering fresh air and tranquil walking paths surrounded by nature. 🌳
With advance registration, visitors can even participate in Temple Stay programs, experiencing meditation, ceremonial chanting, and other aspects of temple culture firsthand. 🪔
When constant notifications and social interactions start to feel overwhelming, how about taking a break from the busy world and spend a quiet day at Yongin Beomnyunsa Temple?
Let your body and mind unwind, and discover a true moment of rest in Gyeonggi Province.
