Today, we want to introduce you to a uniquely and beautiful place in Gyeonggi Province, where you can simultaneously experience the ambiance of old salt farms and the a natural ecosystem!
Located in Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park (시흥갯골생태공원) is a wetland formed on a deep inland tidal flat on the site of abandoned salt farm encompassing almost 5 million square meters. The park exhibits significant tidal differences characteristic of the West Coast, and its salt pans and grasslands host a rare distribution of diverse life forms.
Salt-tolerant plants like Suaeda japonica, glasswort, and seepweed, as well as various species of fish, amphibians, including fiddler crabs and mudskippers, inhabit the area, contributing the joy of being in nature.

Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park, recognized for its beauty and ecological excellence, has been rated as a first-class ecological area by Siheung City. It was also designated as a National Marine Wetland Conservation Area in February 2012.
The main facility, the salt farm experience site, restores the old salt farm, allowing visitors to watch and experience the salt production process.
Additionally, facilities such as the seawater experience site, reed maze, swinging observatory, and Gaetgol camping site are available, making it a suitable tourist attraction for the whole family.
