Gapyeong County, known for its atmosphere of youth and romance, is a place where many college students and young people gather every season to bond through what Koreans call “MT” (Membership Training). In addition, there are tourist attractions where you can enjoy various natural charms such as Nami Island, Jarasum Island, and the Garden of Morning Calm, all of which are loved by people of all walks of life. A cultural space, called ‘Music Station 1939,’ was created in Gapyeong where visitors can enjoy the cultural assets of the county.
Music Station 1939 is a music-centered cultural space located in the former Gapyeong Station area. It features facilities such as performance halls, studios, dance practice areas, residences, movie theaters, and restaurants, and also stages 25 various music-related programs annually.
With Music Station 1939 at its center, the Gyeongchun (Seoul-Chuncheon) Rail Line's “Time Travel Street” was selected as one of the Gyeonggi Theme Alley Tourism projects for Gyeonggi Province this year.

If you step out of the main building, M Station, and go to the right, you can see the exhibition hall that showcases discarded vehicles in a space near a local food store. Among these are two scrapped trains that were actually used on the Mugunghwa Rail Line in the past, and the space also embodies memories of traveling along the Gyeongchun Line.
Photos and signs welcome visitors on the train, and images of Gapyeong Station as well as the memories and history of Gapyeong are displayed.
There are also famous records of the Gangbyeon Song Festival on display. As mentioned earlier, Gapyeong is a historic place where the riverside singing festival is staged. Renowned Korean singers debuted through the festival include such celebrated performers as Lee Sun-hee , Kim Kyung-ho, and Jang Yoon-jeong.
