Planning to explore Korea on your own or with a small group?

Looking for a travel course that has history, fun, food, and relaxation?

Then check out these unique destinations in Gyeonggi Province, just outside of Seoul.

Each spot offers something special for free independent travelers (FIT) who want to experience Korea their own way.

Let’s dive in!

1. Imjingak & Pyeonghwa Nuri Park (Paju City)

Imjingak is one of Korea’s most symbolic peace tourism sites.

Located near the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), it tells the story of the Korean War, which began on June 25, 1950, and the painful division of the Korean Peninsula.

Here, you can reflect on Korea’s modern history, learn the importance of peace, and explore a variety of attractions from war relics and exhibitions to the Imjingak gondola, children’s rides, and peaceful walking trails in Pyeonghwa Nuri Park.

It’s a meaningful destination where history meets healing in a beautiful natural setting.

2. Onemount Water Park (Goyang City)

📍 300 Hallyu World-ro, Daehwa-dong, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
