As cool autumn breeze begins to blow, it’s a good time to go hiking!

If you’re looking to escape the city and breathe in crisp, fresh air, head to Bukhansan Mountain in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.

Bukhansan is a national park that spans both Seoul and Goyang City. 

It’s famous for its dramatic granite peaks and breathtaking scenery. 

In autumn, the entire mountain turns into a canvas of brilliant red and golden leaves, a picture-perfect sight. 🍂🍂

Of particular note, from Baegundae Peak (836.5m), you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city skyline blended with colorful autumn foliage and rugged cliffs. ☁️

Bukhansan is very accessible. Take Subway Line 3 to Gupabal Station, then hop on a local bus to Bukhansanseong Entrance. From there, your hiking adventure begins!

Around the entrance, you’ll find plenty of outdoor shops, convenience stores, and restaurants, making it easy to grab some water or snacks before your climb.

There are several hiking trails to choose from, so you can pick one that suits your energy level and preference.

1. Baegundae Peak Course

The most popular route leading to Bukhansan’s highest peak.

It’s a bit challenging, so make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and clothing.

2. Bukhansan Dulle-gil Trail

A gentle, scenic path ideal for a light walk or a family outing.

  

3. Bukhansanseong Fortress Course

Follow the traces of the Joseon Dynasty fortress walls

and experience both history and nature along the way.
