Today’s spotlight is on a special place in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province: the headquarters of NAVER, Korea’s top search platform.
This isn’t just an office building. It’s an open cultural space featuring a public library and interactive areas where cutting-edge IT technology and robots come together.
Just a 10-minute walk (or two bus stops) from Jeongja Station, Exit 3, on the Shinbundang Line, it’s very easy to reach. 😄
NAVER Connect Lounge
📌 Green Factory, 1st–2nd Floors, 6 Buljeong-ro, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do
📌 Hours: Mon–Fri 9:30 AM – 7:30 PM
📌 Closed on weekends
📌 Admission: Free
Connect Lounge, formerly known as the Naver Library, reopened in February 2025 with a fresh new look and name. Visitors can enter freely without ID verification, though only light drinks are allowed inside.
The lounge is stocked with curated books—mainly focusing on art, IT, design, and other fields of inspiration rather than general titles. While books cannot be borrowed, you’re welcome to read them on-site and enjoy a relaxed learning atmosphere.
From Connect Lounge, you can walk directly to Naver’s second office building, Naver 1784.
NAVER 1784
📌 178-4 Jeongja-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do
The new headquarters has a unique name with a layered meaning. ‘1784’ is not only the address but also the year the first Industrial Revolution began. It is a reminder that, just as the revolution transformed human life, this building is a giant testbed for innovation, experimentation, and the creation of tomorrow.
Another distinctive feature is its futuristic concept as a robot-friendly building, very different from traditional office towers.
One of the best places to see the robots in action is the café. Here, robots deliver drinks directly to employees’ offices after customers place an order, giving visitors a glimpse of what the workplace of the future might look like.
Inside the building, you’ll also find dedicated robot maintenance areas and even robot-only elevators, allowing them to move freely and assist with day-to-day operations.
For visitors, the 2nd-floor goods shop is open to the public and makes for a fun stop as well.
Located in Gyeonggi Province, NAVER’s headquarters offers a rare mix of experiences: gaining knowledge in a modern library, exploring advanced technologies, and peeking inside a futuristic office environment.
This open space welcomes both locals and visitors alike.
How about visiting Gyeonggi Province for a different kind of day? 😊
