Starting from 2024, Gyeonggi Province is expanding the scope of the "Universal Menstrual Product Support Program for Female Youths" to include foreign youths residing in the province!
In order to ensure the health rights of female youths aged 11 to 18, the program, which originally targeted Korean female youths in Gyeonggi, will now also include foreign youths residing in the province, such as registered foreigners and foreign nationals with domestic residence.
As a result, a total of 223,846 female youths born between 2006 and 2013 who reside in 21 cities and counties of the province, such as Ansan City, will receive monthly menstrual product support of ✨ KRW 13,000 per person✨. It is estimated that among the beneficiaries, 4,500 are foreign female youths.
Now, let's find out how foreign female youths can benefit from the support for menstrual products.
To receive the support funds, one must first join the local currency system!
Provided in local currency, the support funds can only be used for purchasing menstrual products and can be utilized at convenience stores (CU, GS25, Seven Eleven, E-Mart 24) within the city or county of the beneficiary’s residence.
The application period for support funds will be divided into the first and second halves of the year. In the first half, applications can be made after March through ‘Gyeonggi Minwon24' (https://gg24.gg.go.kr/) and administrative welfare centers near one’s residence.
Gyeonggi Province will continue to expand support for the health of youths so that more can benefit. Thank you for your ongoing interest and support! 😊
