Gyeonggi Province and Kyungdong University are launching a Korean culture education support project.
@Gyeonggi Province |
There are many education programs provided for foreigners residing in Korea. Among them, one of the most important is Korean language education. The related support policies focus on teaching basic Korean language skills.
Kyungdong University, located in Gyeonggi Province,
has been providing beginner and intermediate level Korean language education to
foreigners residing in the northern region of the province, and the university
has now added experiential Korean culture education in collaboration with
Gyeonggi Province.
@Gyeonggi Province |
Learning the language alone isn’t enough for a
foreigner residing in a foreign country. Learning about the culture and ways of
life in that foreign country help foreigners to understand and adapt faster to
the country in which they live.
Accordingly, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government has
designated cultural studies as part of foreigner support policies. This is why
the province is expanding the beginner and intermediate level Korean language
education provided by Kyungdong University to include cultural education.
The program is intended to not only assist with daily
life, but also to facilitate practical economic activities such as obtaining certificates.
The goal is to reduce the cultural differences experienced by students through
communication with their lecturers in the program.

Foreign residents who wish to participate can contact the
Kyungdong University Yangju Metropol Campus Business Administration Department
(031-869-9895) for more information.
Foreigners can naturally grow to understand Korean
culture and adapt better to life in Korea, engendering a more positive
perception of foreigners among Koreans. The program has been available as of
July and we hope that it draws the interest of many Gyeonggi Province residents.
