Gyeonggi-do Supports Company Participation in CES 2021

World best tech event CES invited many Korean companies this year as well. Which company received the award? Is there any hidden assistant behind it?

Among the products recognized during the CES 2021 Innovation Awards, which were held online on January 11–14, one in four were Korean. The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on January 26 that 101 Korean products received the CES Innovation Awards this year, accounting for 26.2% of all 386 products so honored. Although the participation had declined as the event was held solely online, one of the main reasons behind the significant rise in the number of Korean products receiving Innovation Awards has been the efforts made by Gyeonggi Province to support SME participation in the exhibition.

CES, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is one of the world's leading tech events. At CES, international companies gather to demonstrate their latest technologies and innovations while also seeking to cultivate business partners. Gyeonggi Province received considerable attention during last year's CES event as it provided support for participation by Korean SMEs with advanced technologies in areas such as autonomous driving and LiDAR.

The Gyeonggi Content Agency provided a diverse range of support, such as CES 2021-related online exhibition packages, corporate video and promotional directory material production assistance, and consultations for overseas expansion as well as video meeting support (including interpretation services). Building upon its participation in the recent online exhibition, Gyeonggi Province plans to develop a new paradigm for SMEs seeking to enter new markets and will provide full support so that local exporters can debut on the world stage without being hindered by COVID-19.
