Marine Industry in Gyeonggi-do

Gyeonggi-do has hosted Korea International Boat Show since 2008, leading the development of watersports and the Korea Marine Leisure industry. There are 5 main marine leisure areas in Gyeonggi-do(Gimpo, Siheung, Ansan, Hwaseong and Pyeongtaek), and Gyeonggi-do is forming the region as a center of the best yachting and boating location with Jebu Marina in Hwaseong city. The city is expected to add another 300 berths to provide the largest and best equipped combined facilities in Korea.

With the strength having a crucial location of South Korea(including Yellow Sea Free Economic Zone; YFEZ), Gyeonggi-do also plans to construct 3 new marinas which will provide about 1,100 berths.
