From December 10 to 11, 2025, a special international forum will take place at KINTEX in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province!
The 2025 GyeongGi International Forum will examine the structural changes and social impacts emerging across technology, climate, and labor due to advances in artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies.
Under the theme ‘Human-centered Transformation: Designing a Society Where Technology Serves Humanity,’ global scholars and experts will gather to discuss the future direction the international community should pursue.
This year’s forum features a variety of programs over two days, including an opening ceremony, keynote speeches and a kickoff dialogue, and sessions on Opportunities, Climate, Care, and Labor, followed by the closing ceremony.
Around 500 participants are expected to attend, including members of the diplomatic corps in Korea, international organization representatives, local businesses and experts, and university students.
Gyeonggi Province aims to explore how advanced technologies, the climate crisis, and shifting global dynamics are accelerating one another—creating an ‘era of great transformation.’
The forum will discuss how technology can be designed to enhance human dignity and promote the common good.
Two world-renowned scholars will deliver the keynote speeches:
Professor Jürgen Schmidhuber (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, KAUST), often referred to as the “father of modern AI,” is a pioneering figure in AI and deep learning.
He emphasizes the importance of an ‘AI for All’ era and the role of AI in supporting vulnerable populations.
Professor Daniel Susskind (King’s College London), known for his work on rethinking work and economic growth in the age of AI, highlights the need to redesign the purpose of growth so that society moves toward what is genuinely valuable.
For the opening dialogue, Christine Zhenwei Qiang, Global Director of Digital Foundations at the World Bank's Digital Vice Presidency, will lead the session.
She will open the discussion with the theme ‘The Role of Public Policy in a Human-Centered Transformation,’ exploring a wide range of topics from the social impacts of advanced technologies and the direction of change brought by this grand transition to ways to improve the quality of human life.
At the 2025 GyeongGi International Forum, four core agenda sessions will be held: Opportunity, Climate, Care, and Labor.
These sessions will address major issues of the transformation era, including reducing inequality in the AI age, rural RE100 strategies and energy transition, human-centered AI care, and platform economies and employment.
Each topic will be examined comprehensively to understand its social impact and to explore practical solutions.
As AI and emerging technologies rapidly reshape our everyday lives, society is also confronted with new challenges and questions.
Join us at this meaningful forum to reflect on the values that shape our lives and the direction of our shared future. 🤗
