Located in Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, Oido Island is a coastal fishing village near the metropolitan area that is loved as a travel destination where you can enjoy both the sea and sunset.
Originally an island, Oido was connected to the mainland in 1922 when an embankment was built to create salt fields. Later, in the 1980s, development projects shaped it into what we see today.
Now, as the last stop of Subway Line 4 with excellent road access, Oido is an easy place for anyone to visit.
A well-maintained walking trail stretches along the seaside, perfect for a relaxing stroll. Along the way, there are rest areas where visitors can enjoy views of the ocean and night scenery.
✔️ Wide deck paths, convenient for strollers and wheelchairs
✔️ Benches, shelters, and beautiful night lights along the trail
When you climb up to Oido’s iconic Red Lighthouse, a vast view of the West Sea spreads out before your eyes.
Take memorable photos with the Red Lighthouse as your backdrop, and in the evening, end the day by watching the sunset sink into the sea. 🌅
As the sky turns a soft orange and seagulls fly across the water, the scenery feels just like a scene from a movie.
Another highlight of Oido is its nearby seafood market, where you can enjoy a fresh seafood dinner after your stroll.
It is a place where you can experience both a romantic sunset and delicious seafood. How about planning a trip to Oido Island in Gyeonggi Province this weekend?
