May is considered Family Month in Korea, a perfect time for families to come together and enjoy quality time.
Today, we want to introduce a unique arboretum in Gyeonggi Province that’s a hit among kids with its dinosaur theme!
Opened in 2016, the Deokpyeong DINOSAUR ARBORETUM covers 250,000 square meters at the foothills of Dongmaekisan. Over half of this area (130,000 square meters) remains undeveloped, serving as a natural forest bathing area to refresh visitors.
The arboretum is home to about 3,000 species of plants, including oak, chestnut, and pine trees, alongside dozens of native wildflowers. Additionally, approximately 1,000 species of succulents and cacti are maintained in greenhouses.
It even boasts a collection of 100 species of tropical plants rare in Korea, such as coffee trees and papaya!
The facility is perfectly suited for children, featuring a dinosaur-themed outdoor garden, a 3D dinosaur cinema, and a dinosaur café/restaurant.
Plans are underway to add even more attractions like a monorail, water park, pensions, and gardening experiences, making it a location with promising future developments!
Deokpyeong DINOSAUR ARBORETUM is an ideal place for children to unleash their imagination and for adults to take a break from their busy lives. Enjoy a delightful ‘Family Month’ here!
