Discovering the World in Gyeonggi Province ✈️
Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province, renowned for having the largest foreign resident population in Korea, is often referred to as a small world within Korea.
In 2009, Won-gok-dong in Danwon-gu, Ansan City, was designated as a Special Multicultural Zone, leading to the creation of what is now known as Ansan’s Multicultural Food Street.
With many foreign workers from various countries settling in Ansan City, it naturally became a village without borders. Over time, it has evolved into a tourist place where visitors can experience a world tour without a passport.
Currently, about 80,000 migrant workers from 108 countries have settled in Ansan’s Special Multicultural Zone.
Some of these residents run restaurants or markets selling ingredients and side dishes.
On the multicultural food street, visitors can taste traditional foods from various countries, including China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, and more. You can also purchase a variety of tropical fruits and ingredients.
