Gyeonggi Province is actively leading various eco-friendly policies, including efforts to combat climate change. The province is saying no to disposable items and encouraging the collection of old mobile phones. Isn't Gyeonggi Province a great place to live, aiming for a sustainable and happy future? Check out the details below!
At the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex, Use of Disposable Items Has Been Banned!
Since December of last year, Gyeonggi Province has declared 'Zero Single-Use Plastics' and banned the use of disposable cups within the provincial government complex.
Now, even when employees order food deliveries to the complex, they use reusable containers. In practice, single-use items have been practically phased out.
[How to Use Reusable Containers for Delivered Food Within the Complex]
Ordering delivery? ✅ Use reusable containers for packaging.
After the meal? ✅ Return containers to collection bins within the complex.
Final step ✅ Request collection through an associated app.
Through a pilot operation that runs until the end of the year, the province aims to address related issues and improve the system by carefully checking inconveniences faced by small business owners as well as on-site problems. Starting from January next year, the use of reusable containers will be fully enforced.
Through such practices, collaboration between cities, counties, and public institutions will work together and continuously seek ways to support small business owners differently, alleviating their financial burdens and difficulties.
Recycle those unused phones in your drawer and get an incentive!
Do you have unused phones lying idle in your house? Starting February 2024, the Recycling Incentive Program for discarded phones will reward those who donate such phones with donation receipts or carbon-neutral points!
[Public Participation Recycling Program Framework]
1. Register for phone collection
2. Phone collection
3. Recycle
4. Receive participation incentives (donation receipts or carbon-neutral points)
For this program, Gyeonggi Province, Samsung Electronics, CJ Logistics, and eCircularGovernance have entered into a business agreement. The collaboration between companies and local governments aims to efficiently recycle mobile phone resources and protect the environment.
Phones are often abandoned or disposed of as general waste due to concerns about personal information leakage. This is a significant cause of pollution due to hazardous materials like heavy metals. However, the recycling program ensures that personal information is not compromised, and the phones are recycled effectively.
By participating in the incentive program through mobile phone donations, you can receive incentives like donation receipts and carbon-neutral points, contributing to carbon neutrality. Join us in this cause!
