Gyeonggi Province’s ‘Starlight Travelers’ Begin Promotion of Gyeonggi Ocean Tourist Attractions

Gyeonggi Province has announced that the ‘Starlight Travelers,’ a group of supporters formed to promote tourist attractions in Gyeonggi Province, will begin promoting Gyeonggi’s oceanic charm from July 9 to 17 as their first scheduled activity.

Gyeonggi Province has announced that the ‘Starlight Travelers,’ selected to promote outstanding tourist attractions of Gyeonggi Province, will begin promoting Gyeonggi’s ocean charms for Gyeonggi Ocean Travel Week.

The Starlight Travelers will be participating in the ‘Gyeonggi Ocean Travel Week’ event from July 9 to 17 and travel along the west coast as they promote locations in five cities including Siheung’s Oido, Hwaseong’s Jebudo Island, Ansan’s Daebudo Island, and Pyeongtaek’s Marina Bay.

The Starlight Travelers, a group of Gyeonggi tourism supporters recruited from around Korea by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, will utilize their personal SNS accounts for promotional activities.

The Starlight Travelers will undertake traveling activities suitable for the themes announced for each of four sessions that will take place up to November, and post travel review contents on their SNS channels including blogs, Instagram, YouTube, and more.

They will begin their promotional activities with Gyeonggi Ocean Travel Week in July as teams and will visit tourist attractions in Gyeonggi Province such as the ‘Jangdan Soybean Well-being Maru Cultural Experience’ program in Paju City, Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark in Yeoncheon County and Pocheon City, and the Donghak Trail walking experience in Jurok-ri of Yeoju City. They will promote these attractions according to historical, cultural, and ecological themes assigned to them.

Gyeonggi Province held a kick-off ceremony for the Starlight Travelers on June 25 in support their promotional activities, and delivered a theory-and-practice lecture on writing, photography, and filming methods. Gyeonggi Province is not only providing mentoring and classes with travel experts, but also covering travel expenses for the Starlight Travelers. Moreover, the most outstanding Starlight Traveler team will be selected at the end of the year for a cash prize.

We hope that the world can see the excellence of Gyeonggi Province as a tourism destination through the Starlight Travelers, who will travel and promote the captivating tourist attractions of Gyeonggi Province.

Concurrently, Gyeonggi Province is promoting the 2022 Gyeonggi Ocean Travel Week, a tourism support project designed by the province to vitalize the local tourism and travel industry. There will be an advance promotion program, titled ‘Let’s Go to Gyeonggi Ocean,’ to encourage people to visit the five coastal cities of Gimpo, Siheung, Ansan, Hwaseong, and Pyeongtaek. In tandem with this, the Gyeonggi Ocean Healing Music Concert, a talk concert, fam-tours, and other various events will also take place, and discount benefits up to KRW 50,000 for accommodations and leisure experience packages will be offered in collaboration with travel platforms.
