Gyeonggi Hosts the 2022 Gyeonggi Fair Trade UCC Exhibition

Gyeonggi Province will host the Fair Trade User Created Content (UCC) Exhibition until August 29, including a contest in which eight adult finalists and eight youth finalists will receive a total of KRW 15 million in prize money. 

Gyeonggi Province has announced that it will be hosting the ‘2022 Gyeonggi Fair Trade User Created Content (UCC) Exhibition’. 

‘Fair trade’ refers to an ethical form of trade that pays fair compensation for the labor of third-world workers while providing better products to consumers. 

Gyeonggi Province prepared this exhibition, which will run until August 29, to establish social consensus on fair trade and encourage participation in ethical consumption. 

Under the theme of ‘Good consumption changing the world,’ a slogan for fair trade promotion, the exhibition will feature two contests: one for adults and one for youths.

Contestants can produce videos in free-style formats including advertisements, animations, dramas, vlogs, and challenges with contents based on the following: fair trade and its appeal; free topic submissions to promote fair trade; contents introducing fair trade organizations, companies, products and sellers; or information on fair trade in Gyeonggi Province. 

Video files must be submitted in AVI, MP4 or MPEG formats with a resolution above FHD (1,920x1,080) and a running time of less than two minutes. 

Submissions can be made via email (hsb@kgcbrand.com) along with the application form, pledge, and purpose of submission available from the Gyeonggi Province website (https://www.gg.go.kr). Video thumbnails should also be included with the submission.

Eight works will be selected each in the adult and youth contests, with the prize-winning works being determined by combining the expert review scores (70%) and public vote (30%). One grand prize, two prizes of excellence, and five participation prizes will be presented for submissions that earn the highest scores. 

Exhibition results will be announced on the Gyeonggi Province website and via individual notification in September. 

Total prize money of KRW 15 million will be awarded for the selected works. 

In the adult contest, the grand prize winner will receive KRW 3.5 million, the two prize-of-excellence winners will receive KRW 2 million each, and the five participation prize winners will receive KRW 500,000 each. In the youth contest, the grand prize winner will receive KRW 1.5 million, the two prize-of-excellence winners will receive KRW 1 million each, and the five participation prize winners will receive KRW 300,000 each.

Final selections will be revealed during award presentations as a part of the opening ceremony of the 2022 Gyeonggi Fair Trade Festival ‘Fortnight,’ which runs for two weeks in October. 

The prize-winning submissions will be used to promote fair trade in the future. 

Fair trade pursues improved quality of life and independence for producers in developing countries while encouraging ethical consumption. We hope that many people will participate in fair trade practices and contribute to social consensus on fair trade through this exhibition.
