Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority Successfully Operates PR Booth to Attract Investment at ‘Inter-Battery 2022’

Have you ever heard of a rechargeable battery?

A rechargeable battery refers to a battery that, unlike non-rechargeable batteries, can be recharged and provides both economic and environmental benefits.

‘Inter-Battery, the biggest expert inter-battery industry exhibition in Korea, is an open business market for promoting new battery-related products from around the world and meeting with buyers. 

The exhibition, in which more than 300 companies and 30,000 buyers from around the world have participated, consists of a battery conference, online business matching, open recruiting presentations, and conferences between prospective companies and investors.

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority also established and operated its own public relations booth at the exhibition, through which it introduced the Gyeonggi Economy Free Zone’s investment environment in order to raise awareness and attract potential investment from future mobility and battery enterprises. 

While introducing three different districts, each with different and distinct roles, the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority specifically publicized the districts’ features and benefits.

The first is the ‘Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) District,’ an environment-friendly future mobility manufacturing cluster. Following its establishment in 2020 as a district specializing in manufacturing and distribution, Poseung (BIX) District has achieved 75% of sales.

The second is the ‘Pyeongtaek Hyundeok District,’ the hydrogen economy city and global residence district. The Hyundeok District caused excitement by announcing a plan to pursue public development with urban construction as the main focus. 

The third is the ‘Siheung Baegot District,’ an unmanned land-sea-air vehicle and bio-medical cluster.

Of the three districts, the Siheung Baegot District, which will be used as an R&D and specialization district in preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and future industries, consists of a future mobility center, autonomous vehicle test track, and 300-meter artificial tanks to promote research commercialization.

Also, in addition to unmanned land-sea-air vehicle operations, a bio-medical cluster is also being developed. Once the Seoul Hospital is built in 2027, biomedical research and personnel training will be undertaken concurrently.

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority is also taking the lead in attracting investment to Gyeonggi Province by having one-on-one investment consultations with domestic and international battery and rechargeable battery industry representatives while also explaining the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone’s investment environment, advantages, and various benefits.

The success of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority’s PR booth at Inter-Battery 2022 is contributing to the creation of an environment in which Gyeonggi Province companies can focus more on the future mobility and battery industries.
