Gyeonggi Province supports SMEs to open up new markets overseas.
In consideration of travel restrictions made necessary due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Gyeonggi Province held video conferencing sessions as part of its online international expo participation support project for 2021.
One-on-one video consultations were carried out between ten promising consumer product companies of the province (selected for competiveness in cosmetics, household goods, IT and electronics, and more) and local buyers representing a number of businesses in various sectors with verified purchasing power.

Of particular note, Gyeonggi Province aided market expansion by supporting participation and interpretation fees, producing online promotional materials, providing local market information, and more. As a result, the participating SMEs saw a total of USD 4.98 million in export consultations through 60 related sessions and USD 550 thousand in contracting. Through support from the management agencies and exemplary consultations with local buyers, this event proved to be a good opportunity for the SMEs to meet new buyers despite difficulties with overseas travel due to the pandemic.
For instance, ROSEE Cosmetics participated in a video consultation session and received sample orders from local buyers who expressed their intention to officially import ROSEE products after confirming product marketability.
Gyeonggi Province plans to provide continuous support so that exporting companies can expand their business opportunities overseas. The goal is to enable the development of new markets for SMEs that have been experiencing difficulties due to the pandemic.
Online Jipremium 2021 will run from September 28 to December 28; information on products featured by participating companies can be seen on the fair’s website (online.jipremium.com/fairDash.do) during that period.
