Recently, the Korean media has been focusing on locations for glamorous camping, also known as “glamping,” reflecting increased public interest in this type of leisure activity that allows you to spend time with loved ones while comfortably enjoying the beauty of nature. You can naturally relieve stress from your hectic daily life by taking in natural vistas during the day, barbecuing in the evening, and gazing at the stars at night.

Glamping is becoming particularly popular among first-time campers and families because it allows them to effortlessly relax in nature while also enjoying the convenience of a hotel without the need for burdensome camping equipment. There are several places where you can enjoy such luxurious glamping experiences in Gyeonggi Province. One such place is Pine Valley Glamping located in Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province.

Pine Valley Glamping, located near Forest Hill CC in Pocheon, is ensconced in groves of evergreen pine. It is the perfect place to escape from your daily routines without having to travel far as it is just an hour from Seoul by car. You can stay overnight or book the place for several hours on the day of your visit. There are two glamping sites located 5 minutes away from each other. Here is the 2nd glamping site.

When entering the glamping site, you check in at the management office and store located right next to the parking lot. At the store, you can purchase food and other glamping essentials, including snacks, instant rice, drinks, sweet potatoes, marshmallows, ice, toiletries and more.

The interior of the tent is spacious and comfortable, and includes a bed, extra bedding, TV, air conditioner, sofa and table, so that you can focus on relaxing. You can enjoy your stay in privacy since there is also a private toilet inside.

Additional facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and a playground for children, which are useful for family trips. You can also take a walk along the nearby trail to enjoy views of pristine valleys, rent a bicycle, or have fun hiking.

The night view is especially romantic, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature thanks to non-intrusive lighting. Enjoy your own barbecue party in a private area equipped with charcoal, grill and brazier—a wonderful combination of a romantic night view and bonfire.

Sanjeong Lake & Myeongseongsan Mountain

Sanjeong Lake, which is located below Myeongseongsan Mountain in the northernmost part of Pocheon City, is literally called a “mountain well” and considered to be one of the top 100 tourist destinations in Korea for its clear water and beautiful mountain views.

There is a 4-km trail around the lake, easily trekked by people of all ages since it is short and well maintained. If you are driving, you can access the trail from either the upper or lower parking lots. It is easier to access the waterside deck trail from the lower lot, while you have immediate access to the sculpture park from the upper lot.

We recommend that you explore the sculpture park first, and then walk along the waterside deck trail around the lake in a counterclockwise direction. At the sculpture park, you will see colorful sculptures and cute duck boats that decorate the lake.

Myeongseongsan Mountain boasts Gyeonggi Province’s designated Eulalia Grass habitat, which makes it another place worth visiting along with Sanjeong Lake. The Sanjeong Lake Myeongseongsan Eulalia Festival is held here every October, and the sight of golden Eulalia Grass swaying at the feet of a huge mountain is truly captivating.

This year’s Myeongseongsan Eulalia Festival will be held in compliance with COVID-19 protocols at Sansan Lake’s sculpture park and trail until February 13 of 2022 under the theme of “Autumn Eulalia, and Winter. Be sure to visit during this period and enjoy the festival along with the beautiful Sanjeong Lake.
