Gyeonggi Province is celebrating the 12th anniversary of PlayX4, the largest game industry exhibition in the metropolitan area, this year. In 2020, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic while in 2019, it recorded the best accomplishment with more than 100,000 visitors. This year, 2021 PlayX4 will be held in two categories, business-to-business (B2B) export consultation and business-to-consumer (B2C) exhibition, in May and July, respectively. 2021 PlayX4 B2B took place online from May 10 to 14. According to Gyeonggi Province, a total of 329 companies, including 142 domestic developers as well as 187 domestic and overseas buyers, participated and set a new record of best achievement with USD 110.67 million worth of contracts.

In partnership with Korea’s largest online video game community Ruliweb, 2021 PlayX4 B2C succeeded in luring participation from global video game companies. RULICON 2021 is a program on PlayX4 TV that showcases new works of global video game companies. From the RULICON 2021, you can be informed of the latest information and undisclosed new works of famous game developers, including SIEK, Nintendo of Korea, Sega, Ubisoft, Blizzard Entertainment and Mediatonic.
The exhibition hall will be perfectly prepared for visitors' safety. First of all, social distancing and mask-wearing will be mandatory, and disease prevention and control measures will be implemented through QR code visitors’ logs, hand sanitization and temperature check stations, and distribution of disposable gloves. Visitors are required to book a reservation in advance. The exhibition will be a venue to see not only PC and mobile games, but also new games of various genres, such as console, AR/VR, arcade, and board games. The exhibition will also provide diverse game content, including e-sports and Twitch streamer events.
The main stage event will be available for viewing via PlayX4 TV and live streamed via the official PlayX4 Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/playx4_2021).

There will also be an event for die-hard retro gamers: Retro Market, which had been held by the retro game community Gudakdong every year, will take place in the event hall for two days from July 17 to 18. In the market, you can find various retro game items, including class game titles and game consoles.
