Gyeonggi Seaside Healing Concert on Bangameori Beach of Daebudo Island in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province

Gyeonggi Province has prepared various events for the visitors who want to enjoy Gyeonggi Seaside! Come and enjoy together

Gyeonggi Province celebrated its newly designated “Visit Gyeonggi Seaside Week” from June 14 to 20 in line with its policy to “make Gyeonggi Province’s sea clean,” during which various events were held throughout Siheung, Pyeongtaek, Gimpo and Ansan under the theme of “Clean Gyeonggi Sea.”

Throughout the week, Gyeonggi Province held the “Gyeonggi Seaside Healing Concert” to offer music therapy for visitors enjoying the beautiful sea on the beaches of Gyeonggi Province’s sea in five regions, including on Bangameori Beach of Daebudo Island in Ansan.

Bangameori Beach is located on Daebudo Island in Ansan, and is a popular summer getaway spot for its Bangameori Food Street lined with restaurants serving fresh fish, grilled clams, and noodles against the backdrop of the beautiful seascape and exotic mudflats. On June 20, the last day of the “Visit Gyeonggi Seaside Week,” there were, as always, people setting up beach umbrellas and tents on the beach to enjoy the sea.

Bangameori Beach was the last of the five venues for Gyeonggi Seaside Healing Concert held under strict social distancing and safety rules considering the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to the main concert, a street performance was held on an outdoor stage by the sea. The audience enjoyed the familiar tunes of movie soundtracks and variations on Pachelbel’s Canon echoing through the beach.

It was followed by the main performance of Gyeonggi Pops Ensemble, comprising drums, guitar and keyboard as well as brass, such as saxophone and trumpet. Towards the end of the concert, the band staged a collaborative performance with singers, which drew rapturous applause from the audience.

Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously organize street performances by amateur artists and local tourism programs centering on “Gyeonggi Seaside” streets even after the “Visit Gyeonggi Seaside Week” until September to October. With a range of exciting programs, Gyeonggi Province’s local sea will develop into Korea’s representative tourist destinations.
