2021 Foreign Social Media Reporters are ready to explore Gyeonggi! What do they do and what is their role?

The Gyeonggi Foreign Social Media Reporters program was launched by the Gyeonggi Foreign Policy Division in 2020 to provide foreign residents of the province with opportunities to participate in the provincial administration as community members.
The Gyeonggi Foreign Social Media Reporters generate a broad range of policy-related and informative social media content (for Facebook, Instagram, and the official blog). This content focuses on Gyeonggi Province and is geared to help foreign residents of the province.

The 2021 Gyeonggi Foreign Social Media Reporters come from nine different countries and reside in 15 administrative districts of Gyeonggi Province.
A launching ceremony for the 2021 Gyeonggi Foreign Social Media Reporters was held on April 7 with the participation of the 30 recruited members who had undergone project briefing and related training. These members will actively engage in the creation of content in Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, and Khmer, promoting Gyeonggi Province’s policies until the end of the year.
The reporters began their activities in April by producing and promoting contents about policies being pursued by Gyeonggi Province, such as the 2nd Disaster Basic Income Payment for Foreign Residents.
Hong Dong-gi, Director of the Foreign Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The Gyeonggi Foreign Social Media Reporters program, which is marking its second year, will operate in four different languages this year. Just as these reporters quickly and accurately delivered content focusing on 478 provincial policies and practical information last year, we also aim to promote diverse information about Gyeonggi Province among foreign residents Province this year.”
