Gyeonggi Bus Lounge Guide - Wait for Your Bus in Comfort

Gyeonggi-do opened Gyeonggi bus lounge at Sadang station for passengers to be waiting for buses with enjoying various services such as charging port.

'Gyeonggi Bus Lounge' at Sadang Station in Seoul and opened it to the public of October 5 so as to provide a comfortable waiting area for Gyeonggi-Seoul bus passengers. With a total area of 176.76 square meters (88.38 square meters on the 3rd floor and 88.38 square meters on the 4th floor) in the Geumgang Building in front of Exit #4 of Sadang Station where many buses stop.

Sadang Station is a public transportation hub with approximately 30,000 commuters a day using buses that run between Gyeonggi-do and Seoul. During the evening rush hour, long queues of more than 200 meters can form for some buses, causing great discomfort among bus users. The Gyeonggi Bus Lounge was introduced to resolve this issue, providing a comfortable waiting area for bus passengers. It is a new concept in public transportation service introduced this year by Gyeonggi Province to improve the convenience of public transportation.

Amenities and services

There are many amenities and services available in the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge. Gyeonggi Transportation Director Park Tae-hwan said, "The Gyeonggi Bus Lounge represents one of the province’s policies for realizing a 'Gyeonggi-do in which public transportation is more comfortable than a car’. We will make every effort to operate this space so that long-distance commuters can use it comfortably."

Bus Information Display

Passengers can check bus schedules, weather conditions, fine dust levels, and more, through the Bus Information Display. For reference, it provides information for bus stops on the central lane in front of Exit 4 of Sadang Station. The red buses are for Gyeonggi-do buses, while green are for Seoul. Through the display on the 4th floor, commuters can also see information about provincial policies of Gyeonggi-do. It is a highly practical space through which one can learn much more about Gyeonggi-do while also enjoying convenient facilities.

One of the strengths of Gyeonggi Bus Lounge is that it has a viewpoint where you can see the outside scenery from a high place.

Comfortable Seating

A total of 48 seats (22 seats on the 3rd floor and 26 seats on the 4th floor) are available to help commuters wait for their buses in comfort. Heating, air-conditioning and air-purifying systems have been installed so that commuters can wait for buses without worrying about the weather or fine dust exposure.

Wifi and USB Charging Ports

Commuters can also use free Wi-Fi at the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge. The required ID and password, displayed on tables and information desks, can be easily found. There are also USB charging ports along the walls and tables. If your electronic device is dying just when you need it most, the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge offers a convenient charging option.

For Mothers and Babies

A special nursing room has been prepared on the 3rd floor of the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge so as to provide a safe and comfortable area for parents with babies.

Hygienic Bathrooms, Water Purifiers, and Temperature Sensors

The Gyeonggi Bus Lounge prioritizes diverse aspects of public comfort. Commuters can refresh themselves with water (hot and cold) at any time through the available water purifiers. Moreover, since it is often hard to find a washroom near bus stops (unlike subway stations), the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge has prepared washrooms for those who want to wash their hands or take care of other “urgent business.”

Additionally, body temperature sensors have been installed at the 3rd and 4th floor entrances to the lounge to detect fevers that may be indicative of infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Gyeonggi Province also plans to introduce a seat reservation service in connection with the Gyeonggi Bus Lounge.

1. It is a quiet zone. Please be considerate of others and speak softly.

2. For public safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic, please refrain from chatting or making phone calls.

3. Outside food or alcohol is not allowed.

4. There is no storage space for personal items, so individuals must manage their own belongings.

5. No smoking allowed

6. No pets allowed
